Nicholas J. Muros

Senior Vice President, Group Operating Officer - West, Midwest

Mr. Muros holds a BS degree from Northern Illinois University. He is the Group Operating Officer for POER's five Western Group offices responsible for leadership and oversight management of business development, services and client relations. He has received the Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE) designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

He joined the POER Company in 1981 as the Chicago Division Manager where he presented appeal cases throughout the Midwest.  He has 30 years of experience in the property tax consulting field.  He directed the growth of POER's Midwest operation as its Manager and Consultant by establishing a presence in the Chicago, Cook County market. He has appeared before various tax courts and state boards as an expert witness on property revaluations. 

Before joining the POER Company, Mr. Muros was with the Cook County Assessor's Office in Chicago, Illinois where he held positions of Assessment Supervisor and Senior Assessment Analyst as well as being appointed the County's first Taxpayer Advocate.

He is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers and has completed advanced courses in Real Estate Appraisal sponsored by the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  He is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation and is a Director/Officer of the National Council of Property Taxation.
