Miles A. Friend

Senior Vice President, Group Operating Officer - East

Mr. Friend joined POER in 1986 with vast experience as a real estate consultant and appraiser. He oversees POER's operations in the Eastern United States including offices in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Florida and Atlanta.

Previously, he was the Assessing Department Director of Operations for the City of Boston and was largely responsible for the direction of Boston's revaluation of 120,000 commercial and residential properties in the mid-80s.

Friend has completed courses through the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, the Wharton School, the Urban Land Institute and the International Association of Assessing Officers. He has also taught appraisal courses.

As a member of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, he served on the Major Development Projects Committee. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Building Owners and Managers Association, the International Association of Assessing Officers, the Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
